Principal's Message

Welcome to our school. Marrickville Public School has a richly diverse population of intelligent and civically minded students. Our students strive for academic excellence and emotional intelligence.

With more than twenty nationalities within our school, we are proud of our harmonious multicultural atmosphere. Although we have different cultural backgrounds we share being Australians together.

Our students excel in various aspects of their rich and rewarding school lives. Some are excellent at academic studies resulting in OC (Opportunity Class) or Selective High School placements. Others excel in citizenship, working towards improving local and global issues and becoming informed and active members of the Marrickville community. Others excel in the field of sport and represent our school at district, regional or state level while others demonstrate their talent in the creative arts such as music, performance, dance and art.

Each student carries with them the high expectations of their families and teachers.

The staff has a wealth of expertise in both curriculum knowledge as well as teaching pedagogy. Emphasis is on being knowledgeable about contemporary theories of teaching practices to enhance the achievements of student outcomes.
